Griffco Valve

Chemical metering pump ancillary equipment — back pressure valves, injection quills, gauge guards, and a real quantified 98+% sulfuric acid material bulletin.

Product Families

What LibertyCES specifies from Griffco Valve

Back Pressure & Pressure Relief Valves
G-Series, M-Series, Unibody

Back pressure valves also function as anti-siphon protection; Unibody design eliminates extra unions/fittings for leak-free connections.

Chemical Injection Quills
1.5"–24" insertion length

316SS, CPVC, PVC, PVDF, Hastelloy C, or Alloy 20 — sold by insertion length, the critical dimension for correct fit into a specific pipe or tank penetration.

Gauge Guards & Y-Strainers
Economy / Mid / Premium tiers

Gauge protection in 316SS, CPVC, or Hastelloy C, and Y-strainers from 20 to 325 mesh in 316SS, CPVC, PVC, or Clear PVC.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What material should be used for 98+% sulfuric acid service?

At 98.3%+ concentration, sulfuric acid carries sulfur trioxide, which attacks PVDF and Noryl. Griffco's own bulletin recommends Halar (ECTFE) or one-piece flanged PTFE (both rated to 100% at 200°F) or Alloy 20 (100% at 300°F) — threaded PTFE connections should be avoided due to cold-flow leak risk.

What is the difference between a Griffco back pressure valve and pressure relief valve?

A back pressure valve applies continuous back pressure to a chemical feed pump while preventing gravity/siphon-induced overfeed. A pressure relief valve, also marketed as a high-pressure pump bypass valve, protects the system from over-pressure caused by defective equipment or line blockage.

How are Griffco chemical injection quills sized?

By insertion length, not just valve body size — quills range from 1.5" to 24" insertion length, which must match the specific pipe or tank penetration depth for correct fit.
